European aerial platform and forklift rental giant Riwal has consolidated its UK haulage services by investing in haulage equipment. Since Riwal was established in the UK in 2009, the company has used subcontracted haulage companies across the UK. However, due to the growth in its fleet size and the expansion of its branch network, the company has decided to bring its core haulage requirements inland.
The investment will improve control over transport quality and efficiency and bring Rewal closer to its customers, Rewal said.
The investment comprises MAN trucks and King trailers, as well as MAN rigid vehicles for customers with limited access requirements for deliveries. The trucks will be used across Riwal’s UK network to provide on-time deliveries, short delivery times and customer familiarisation with the equipment.
“We have undertaken an in-depth review of our use of external transport and how we can best serve our customers, taking into account the increased safety requirements at key sites such as Crossrail and The Olympic Project,” said Tim White, managing director of Riwal UK. “We have chosen Euro 6 engines for all vehicles to reduce our carbon emissions and all vans are Crossrail compliant with reversing cameras, additional mirrors and signage to ensure the safety of all road users.”
Headquartered in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, Rewal specializes in the rental of aerial and power generation equipment in 17 countries on three continents.
