Scania is putting commercial vehicle road safety at the top of its agenda by offering 8,000 members of the public the chance to attend the UK final of the European Young Truck Drivers event at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire on Saturday 26 June (gates open at 11:00, competition starts at 13:30) completely free of charge. The total value of this unprecedented offer is £150,000. Entry is free to the Heritage Motor Centre’s extensive collection of historic vehicles. Long regarded as one of Britain’s leading motoring museums, the Centre is home to a unique display of exhibits covering all ages of motoring from the earliest days to the not-so-distant past.
Visit the Scania Safety Zone, featuring a Central Highway Police branded Scania truck that recently featured in Police, Camera, Action! The Scania Safety Zone will also showcase the Metropolitan Police’s Cyclist Road Safety Programme and the work of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

8,000 free tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis and can be obtained by calling Scania’s European Young Truck Driver Helpline on 01908 900730 (lines open from 1 to 18 June) or online at scania.co.uk/tonnesoffun (1 to 18 June). A maximum of four tickets per applicant applies. Another added bonus is that all attendees on the day will be eligible to enter a free draw to win either an all-expenses-paid trip to Scania’s home country of Sweden to attend the European Young Truck Driver Final or use of the England team bus for their home team for a day.

Young European Truck Driver
The European Young Truck Drivers Competition is the world’s premier commercial vehicle driving competition, designed by Scania to promote the highest standards of driving and road safety. As such, the competition is endorsed and supported by the European Union. In 2010, young commercial vehicle drivers (born in or after 1975) from a total of 24 European countries will compete in national events to select their Young Driver of the Year. The 24 winners will then meet at Scania’s headquarters in Sweden over the weekend of 4/5 October to compete for the title of European Young Truck Driver of the Year, with the prize being a new Scania R-series truck worth €100,000.
